The breed of an animal defines everything — the fat content, taste, texture, digestion, and nutrition. One size does not fit all.
Different breeds yield milk with varying fat%, protein, lactose, and micronutrients. A buffalo and a cow produce fundamentally different milk — and within buffaloes, Murrah vs Jafarabadi differ too.
Kids and elders benefit from lighter, easily digestible A2 cow milk. Fitness enthusiasts may prefer higher protein. Ghee-lovers and curd-makers need the rich cream of Murrah or Jafarabadi.
Every subscription tells you the breed, the batch, and the farm. No blending, no ambiguity. Your milk comes from a named breed, milked fresh this morning.
The natural sweetness of A2 cow milk, the rich earthiness of Banni, the thick creaminess of Jafarabadi — these are breed-defined characteristics you can taste, not just read about.
Who benefits most?
Every breed carries centuries of Indian agricultural wisdom. Understand the land, the livestock, and the legacy behind your milk.
Origin: The Murrah is India's premier dairy buffalo breed, originating from the Rohtak, Hisar, and Gurgaon districts of Haryana, with a traditional presence across Punjab and Delhi belt. Known locally as the "Black Gold" of Indian dairy farming.
Why It's Valued: Murrah is one of the highest milk-yielding buffalo breeds in the world. Its milk is prized for its exceptional fat content (6–8%), making it the ideal source for premium desi ghee and thick curd. It has been selectively developed over generations for dairy superiority.
Milk Character: Deep ivory-white, thick, rich cream layer, slight natural sweetness with full-bodied mouthfeel. Excellent for boiling, setting curd, and making ghee.
"We chose Murrah because our customers who love curd and ghee deserve the richest, most traditional source — right from the heartland of Indian dairying."
Fat: 6-8%
Best For: Ghee, Curd, Sweets
Region: Haryana, Punjab
Status: Premier Dairy Breed
Origin: "A2 Cow" refers to Indian native (desi) cow breeds — including Gir, Sahiwal, Rathi, Kankrej, and others — which naturally produce milk containing only the A2 beta-casein protein variant. These breeds have been integral to Indian agriculture for thousands of years.
Why It's Valued: Unlike hybrid or crossbred cattle, Indian native cows carry the A2 gene, making their milk significantly easier to digest. The A2 protein is structurally similar to human breast milk. Traditional Ayurveda has always distinguished cow milk from buffalo milk for its nurturing and healing properties.
Milk Character: Light yellow-tinted (from beta-carotene), naturally sweet, thin cream layer, highly digestible. Ideal for direct drinking, cooking, and feeding children.
"We chose native A2 cows because modern families deserve milk that has nourished India for millennia — gentle on the gut, genuine in origin."
Fat: 3-4%
Best For: Drinking, Kids, Fitness

Origin: Banni buffalo originates from the Banni grasslands of Kutch, Gujarat — one of India's most distinctive ecological zones. Reared by the Maldhari pastoral community for generations, these animals have adapted to the semi-arid landscape and thrive even in challenging conditions.
Why It's Valued: Banni buffaloes are known for their hardy constitution, disease resistance, and quality milk production. Their milk strikes a balance between richness and digestibility, making it versatile for daily consumption, tea, and coffee. The Banni breed received GI (Geographical Indication) recognition from the Government of India.
Milk Character: White, moderately creamy, balanced fat content with a mild earthy undertone. Pairs exceptionally well with tea and coffee. Good for versatile everyday use.
"Banni milk brings a slice of Kutch's ancient pastoral tradition to your morning cup — earthy, honest, and wholly Indian."

Origin: Named after the town of Jafarabad in the Gir Forest region of Saurashtra, Gujarat, the Jafarabadi is one of India's largest buffalo breeds. Traditionally bred by communities in Junagadh, Amreli, and Bhavnagar districts.
Why It's Valued: The Jafarabadi is renowned for its extraordinarily high milk fat content — among the highest of any buffalo breed in India. It is a large, powerful animal that yields dense, rich milk perfect for traditional Indian sweets, thick curd, paneer, and premium dairy products. Highly prized by sweet-makers and dairy artisans.
Milk Character: Thick, dense, intensely creamy with pronounced richness. Sets into the thickest curd and yields the most from ghee extraction. A heritage choice for sweet connoisseurs.
"Jafarabadi brings the heritage of Gir's lush pastures to your kitchen — the choice of every home that takes its sweets and ghee seriously."
